I am currently accepting commissions at the following rates:

1. Full-color: $35.00 - 1 full figure
2. Inked B&W: $25.00 - torso shot
3. Quick sketch (pencil): $15 - bust/head-shot

These rates are good until the end of April.

The main question being: do I really have one?

Here's the problem I have with my artwork. When I do my little doodling at work, with a ballpoint pen for the most part, my artwork looks a lot more like what I consider to be "my" style... kind of a cross between Akira Toriyama, George Perez, and probably a dozen other influences I couldn't name off the top of my head. The problem is, when I start to draw a commission or a more "serious" piece of artwork, I start trying to draw in a completely different style. My Superheroines-in-Distress type artwork becomes much more Perez influenced, for example, of when I just try to draw some kind of "Good Girl" art, I try to weave in Adam Hughes's style... which is frustrating because I am certainly no George Perez or Adam Hughes.

Sometimes I'm satisfied with the results, but often I look back at it and think "why did I try to draw in that style? I mean, I see some good aspects to my art, it's not like I hate everything I draw... but I have two commissions that I've owed for quite some time (and fortunately both people have been very considerate about the fact that I had to move and basically readjust my life), but when I start thinking about drawing the pieces I start imagining one of them as a very detailed George Perez-ish kind of thing, and the other as an Adam Hughes/Frank Cho style... and I know that if I try to go either of those routes I'll be hugely disappointed in the results.

All this introspection came about because I brought my sketchbook with me to work the other day and for the first time in ages I put pencil to paper and the results were... not good. Yes, I know ... it takes time to get back into the flow of things again, and after a few months my artistic skills are somewhat hampered, but I just am not sure how to proceed.

I suppose the style I've used that I'm most comfortable with currently is the "Kim Possible" type of thing I've done recently, but with some of the Perez noodling on the characters... so I should probably try to work on making that more my personal style and letting that evolve into something that people will look at and say "Oh, I know that style"

So anyway... with the "bringing the sketchbook to work" now accomplished, and actually sketching something (which will never ever see the light of day), at least I can say I'm trying to draw again. So when something that's actually tolerable is created, I can start posting new art again.

Haha, thanks! I really appreciate that!
Thank you. Yeah, that was the first (and only) time I ever worked with Zatanna. I don't necessarily feel that I did poorly on it, but I know I could've done better (or at least, I could now). I'll spare you any long winded explanations about that.
Well, I think you did a great job on Zatanna. Personally I think your style would be great on Jack of Fables.
